September 10, 2024: The search and rescue operation resumed on Tuesday morning at the site of a devastating landslide on the Kedarnath highway, taking the toll from the incident to five.



The incident occurred along a 150-meter stretch of highway between Sonprayag and Munkatiya in Uttarakhand’s Rudraprayag district. Officials have indicated that there may still be more individuals buried under the debris.



District Disaster Management Officer Nandan Singh Rajwar confirmed the identities of the deceased as Gopal, 50, Durgabai Khapar, 50, and Samanbai, 50, all from Madhya Pradesh; Titli Devi, 70, from Nepal; and Bharat Bhai, 52, from Surat, Gujarat.



The situation remains fluid, and further updates are expected as the search operation progresses.
