March 10, 2025: Assam Finance Minister Ajanta Neog is set to present the state budget for the financial year 2025-26 in the Assembly today at 11:30 PM. This will be the last full-fledged budget of the Himanta Biswa Sarma-led government before the 2026 Assembly elections.

Sources suggest that the budget is likely to be pro-people, with several welfare measures targeting the poor and middle class. Finance Minister Neog has hinted at key announcements focusing on women empowerment, farmers, unemployed youth, and economically weaker sections of society.
