September 11, 2021: Former special director of Intelligence Bureau (IB) Akshaya Kumar Mishra is likely to be appointed as the interlocutor for Naga peace talks, sources said.



RN Ravi, the earlier interlocutor for the talks and Governor of Nagaland has been shifted as Governor Tamil Nadu on Thursday.





Mishra is a 1987 batch Indian Police Service (IPS) officer of the Rajasthan cadre. He retired in June this year.



Reports had earlier mentioned that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had tasked IB Director Arvind Kumar and the then Special Director of IB, Mishra to resolve the deadlock in the Naga peace talks and get the talks back on track.
