February 16, 2025: In a shocking and brutal attack, Lipsi Mittal, wife of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader and businessman Anokh Mittal, was murdered by armed robbers late on Saturday night. The incident took place near village Rurka, close to the Sidhwan Canal bridge, when the couple was returning home from a dinner in Dehlo.

According to police reports, around five assailants, armed with sharp-edged weapons, intercepted the Mittals’ vehicle and launched a violent assault. Anokh Mittal tried to resist but suffered severe injuries. He was rushed to DMC Hospital, where he is currently undergoing treatment. Tragically, Lipsi Mittal succumbed to the attack on the spot.

The robbers fled the scene with the Mittals' vehicle and valuables. Law enforcement authorities have launched an investigation and are scanning CCTV footage from nearby areas to identify the culprits.

“We are investigating the matter from all possible angles and will ensure strict action against those responsible,” said a senior police official.

Anokh Mittal, a prominent businessman, had joined AAP four months ago under the leadership of MLA Ashok Parashar Pappi. His political involvement had recently brought increased attention to his profile.

The gruesome incident has sent shockwaves across Punjab, raising concerns over law and order in the region. Political leaders and the business community have expressed deep condolences and demanded swift justice for the Mittal family.
