August 14, 2023: A landslide hits a temple at Summer Hill in Shimla following heavy rainfall in the area.



According to officials, few bodies have been retrieved and at least 15 people are still feared to be buried under the debris.



Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu reached the spot to inspect the situation.



Taking to Twitter, Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu said, "20-25 people are trapped under debris in Summer Hill. At least 21 people dead in the last 24 hours in the state. I appeal to people to stay indoors, to not venture near rivers and landslide-prone areas. Restoration works will begin as soon as rain stops."





However, operations are underway to rescue the stranded persons.
