February 27, 2025: Prime Minister Narendra Modi today expressed his gratitude to the people of India following the conclusion of the Maha Kumbh in Prayagraj. In a heartfelt blog post, he reflected on the significance of the 45-day-long spiritual gathering, calling it a “Maha Yagya of unity.”
Sharing mesmerizing pictures from the event on social media platform X, PM Modi wrote in Hindi, “The Maha Kumbh has concluded... The way the faith of 140 crore countrymen came together for this festival of unity is overwhelming! I have tried to pen down my thoughts after its completion.”
The Prime Minister acknowledged the challenges of organizing such a grand event and humbly sought forgiveness for any shortcomings in serving the devotees. “I pray to Mother Ganga, Mother Yamuna, and Mother Saraswati for forgiveness if there was any shortcoming in our worship. If there was any lapse in serving the devotees, whom I consider the embodiment of God, I also seek forgiveness from the people,” he wrote.
PM Modi also highlighted the global significance of the Maha Kumbh, stating that it has now become a subject of research for management professionals and policy experts worldwide. He emphasized that India is embracing its rich heritage while advancing with new energy.
The Maha Kumbh, a religious congregation held once every 12 years, concluded on Mahashivratri (February 26) with thousands of devotees taking a holy dip at the Triveni Sangam. The event witnessed six major bathing dates, including three ‘Amrit Snan,’ attracting millions of pilgrims from across the country.
As the nation bids farewell to this grand festival, PM Modi’s words serve as a reminder of India’s deep-rooted traditions and the unifying power of faith.
