Mumbai Police on High Alert After Threat Message Sent from Pakistani Number to Attack CM’s Office

February 28, 2025: The Mumbai Police have heightened security measures after receiving a WhatsApp message from a Pakistani number threatening to attack the Maharashtra Chief Minister’s office. Officials confirmed that an investigation is underway.

The threat message was received by the Mumbai Traffic Police on WhatsApp from an individual who identified himself as Malik Shahbaz Humayun Raja Dev. The message, sent from an unknown number, has raised concerns among law enforcement agencies, prompting immediate action.

Authorities have registered a case and launched a thorough probe into the origin and credibility of the threat. The Mumbai Police and intelligence agencies are closely monitoring the situation to prevent any untoward incidents.

This comes just days after Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde also received a death threat. In an email sent to the Goregaon police station, an unidentified individual warned of a bomb attack on Shinde’s vehicle. Similar threats were also reported at the state secretariat and the JJ Marg police station. However, after investigation, the Mumbai Police suggested that the email regarding Shinde was likely a hoax.

With multiple threat messages emerging in recent days, security across Mumbai has been intensified. The police have urged citizens to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities.
