Madhya Pradesh Teacher Caught Helping Students Cheat During Exam, Suspended After Video Goes Viral

February 28, 2025: A shocking case of exam malpractice has surfaced in Madhya Pradesh’s Betul district, where a teacher was caught on camera helping students cheat by writing answers on a blackboard during an examination. The incident, which took place on February 25, went viral on social media, prompting swift action from authorities.

The accused, identified as Sangeeta Vishwakarma, a primary school teacher, was assigned as an invigilator during the exam. However, instead of ensuring fair conduct, she was seen solving the Mathematics question paper on the blackboard, allowing students to copy the answers.

A video of the act was secretly recorded and shared online, quickly gaining traction and drawing outrage from the public. Taking cognizance of the matter, Betul Collector Narendra Kumar Suryavanshi ordered an immediate probe.

Following an investigation, the allegations against Vishwakarma were confirmed, leading to her suspension. Assistant Commissioner of the Tribal Affairs Department, Shilpa Jain, stated that a disciplinary enquiry has been initiated and further strict action may be taken if additional violations are found.

Authorities are also considering action against the examination centre head and assistant centre head, with a possibility of an FIR being registered based on the findings of the enquiry.

In response to the incident, the education department has issued a stern warning to all teachers, emphasizing that any involvement in exam malpractice will result in severe consequences. Officials have also directed enhanced monitoring at examination centres to prevent such breaches of academic integrity in the future.

This incident has once again raised concerns over the integrity of the education system and the need for stricter enforcement of examination rules to ensure fair evaluation of students.
