March 29, 2025: A two-day national seminar on "Linguistic and Cultural Issues of the Indigenous People of Bodoland" was recently organized by the Boro Study Center, New Delhi, in collaboration with Gandhi Hindustani Sahitya Sabha and the All Bodo Students Union (ABSU). The event aimed to shed light on the linguistic diversity and cultural heritage of Bodoland, bringing together scholars, policymakers, and community leaders to discuss issues concerning identity and preservation.

The seminar witnessed the presence of several prominent leaders, including BTR Chief Executive Member Pramod Boro, Lok Sabha MP Jayanta Basumatary, Rajya Sabha MP Ranggaura Narzary, and BTC Council Chairman Katiram Boro. Their participation highlighted the importance of safeguarding the cultural and linguistic legacy of the indigenous communities of the region.

In his address, Pramod Boro announced a significant initiative to establish 26 linguistic and cultural museums representing the diverse communities residing in Bodoland. He stated that each museum would receive funding of 20 lakh rupees, reflecting the commitment to preserving the cultural roots and promoting unity among different ethnic groups.

The seminar also saw active participation from several professors of Delhi University and other distinguished speakers who shared their insights and research on the cultural dynamics of Bodoland. Discussions emphasized the need for collaborative efforts between the government, academia, and community organizations to document and protect the linguistic heritage of the region.

Commenting on the upcoming BTR elections, Pramod Boro stated that the BTR administration is currently in alliance with the BJP at the Center, State, and BTC Council. However, he added that it was too early to comment on how they would contest the upcoming council elections. He reaffirmed the administration's commitment to the development and lasting peace of all communities in Bodoland.
