March 4, 2025: In a horrific incident, a woman was allegedly gang-raped and brutally assaulted in Alomganj, Gauripur under Dhubri district. The victim, who sustained severe injuries, is currently undergoing treatment at Dhubri Medical College Hospital.

According to the victim’s family, the incident took place on February 28 when one Rezaul Haque called the woman to meet him while she was at her sister’s house in Baghmara. Upon meeting, Rezaul, along with eight others, allegedly raped her and later dumped her near a roadside. The assailants also attacked her with sharp weapons, leaving her in a critical condition.

Locals discovered the bloodied victim and immediately informed the police. She was then rushed to the hospital for medical attention.

The victim’s family has filed an FIR against Rezaul Haque and his accomplices—Azijur Haque, Ashiqur Haque, Ayub Ali, Sirajul Haque, Usman Ali, Sohidur Rahman, and Ali Hussain—accusing them of the heinous crime.

Despite initiating an investigation, Gauripur police have yet to make any arrests, raising concerns over the delay in justice. The incident has sparked outrage, with locals demanding swift action against the accused.
