'IIT Baba' Abhay Singh Detained in Jaipur Hotel, Caught with Ganja

March 3, 2025: Jaipur Police have taken self-proclaimed spiritual figure ‘IIT Baba’ Abhay Singh into custody from a hotel in the city. The arrest followed his alarming social media post in which he allegedly threatened to take his own life.

A police team from Shipra Path Police Station traced Singh to Classic Hotel near Riddhi Siddhi Park and detained him. During the search, authorities reportedly found him in possession of ganja (marijuana), and he is now expected to face charges under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.

This development comes just days after Singh claimed he was assaulted during a televised debate at a private news channel’s Noida studio on February 28. He alleged that a group of saffron-clad men barged into the newsroom, misbehaved with him, and beat him with sticks.

Following the alleged attack, Singh staged a protest outside a police outpost in Sector 126, but he later withdrew it after being persuaded by police officials.

The Jaipur Police are now investigating the matter, and further legal action is likely.
