January 3, 2025: A horrific incident of gang rape has come to light in Guwahati, where a girl was brutally assaulted by four young boys. The incident occurred on January 1, when the victim, a resident of Kailashpur, Jalukbari, was kidnapped by the accused from Sundarbori.

The perpetrators took the girl to an OYO hotel, where they sexually assaulted her. After the assault, the victim was discarded in front of her house, traumatized and distressed. Her family immediately filed a police complaint, leading to the swift registration of a case at the Jalukbari Police Station.

Following the complaint, police have arrested two of the accused, while the other two remain at large. Authorities have filed charges under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, Section 03/24. The arrested individuals have been presented before the court for legal proceedings.

The incident has sparked widespread outrage in the region, with the local community expressing shock and demanding justice. The authorities have assured that they are actively pursuing the remaining suspects and taking all necessary measures to ensure justice for the victim.
