July 25, 2020: Two terrorists have been killed in an encounter that broke out between security forces and terrorists in the Ranbirgarh area on the outskirts of Srinagar on Saturday morning. 

Security forces launched a cordon-and-search operation in the region following specific information about the presence of militants there, a police official said.

As the joint team of forces approached towards the suspected spot, the hiding militants fired upon them, triggering off a gunfight. Two to three militants believed hiding in the area.

“Encounter has started at Ranbirgarh (Panzinara), in the outskirts of Srinagar. Police and security forces are on the job. Further details shall follow,” tweeted the Kashmir Police Zone.
