April 2, 2025: A heartbreaking incident occurred in Gujarat’s Rajkot on Monday, leaving a family devastated. Badal Santoshbhai Thakur, a 14 year old boy, was fatally hit by a water bottle thrown from a moving train. The unfortunate event took place near the railway tracks in the Shapar-Veraval area of Rajkot.



Badal was playing near the tracks with a friend after spending time in a nearby garden. In a split second, a water bottle thrown from the first coach of the Veraval-Bandra Terminus (Mumbai) train struck Badal on the chest with immense force. He lost consciousness immediately and was declared dead on the spot.



The incident has sent shockwaves across the community, and the Shapar police have registered a case of accidental death. An investigation is underway to determine the circumstances surrounding the tragic event.



Badal was the only son of his parents, who originally hailed from Madhya Pradesh, but had been running a business in Gujarat for over two years.
