Guwahati: A massive fire broke out in a residential area of Islamabad in Cachar, Assam last night, reducing a house to ashes.
The blaze occurred at the residence of Rahim Uddin, with eyewitnesses reporting a sudden eruption of flames.
Despite timely alerts from locals, the fire brigade's response was hindered, allowing the fire to spread rapidly throughout the house. Locals watched in horror as the structure was completely consumed by the flames.
Fortunately, no casualties were reported, as the occupants were not present at the time of the incident.
The incident has left the affected families in a state of distress.
The cause of the fire is not yet known but the locals have suspected the incident to be a result of a possible short-circuit.
