February 23, 2025: A 21-year-old man, accused of stalking a woman, was brutally beaten and stabbed to death by her parents and relatives in Maharashtra's Nanded district, police said on Sunday.

The shocking incident took place on Friday evening in Hadgaon town, where the accused family members allegedly attacked Sheikh Arafat near his house. According to police reports, they first kicked and assaulted him with sticks before fatally stabbing him.

The victim’s mother, who tried to intervene and rescue her son, was also beaten up during the attack, an official stated.

Preliminary investigations revealed that the attackers, including the woman’s parents and other relatives, justified their actions by accusing Arafat of repeatedly harassing and stalking the woman.

Following the incident, Hadgaon police acted swiftly and arrested 10 people on Friday night. A case of murder has been registered against them, and further investigation is underway.

Authorities have urged people to report such cases of harassment to the police rather than resorting to violence.
