March 31, 2025: Abdul Rehman, a key financer of terrorist group Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) and close aide of Hafiz Saeed, was fatally shot by an unidentified assailant in Karachi, Pakistan. The incident occurred at Rehman’s shop, where a masked gunman opened fire, killing him instantly. A video of the incident, which surfaced online, shows the assailant firing at others in the shop, but sparing a child who was standing in the counter.
Rehman’s murder follows the killing of Abu Qatal, another close aide of Saeed, in Pakistan earlier this month. Qatal, a top LeT commander, was involved in planning and executing multiple attacks in Jammu and Kashmir, including a deadly attack on a bus carrying Hindu pilgrims in Reasi district on June 9, 2024.
The motives behind Rehman’s murder are unclear, but some reports suggest internal rivalry between Pakistan’s ISI and LeT may be a factor.
