March 31, 2025: The joyous celebrations of Eid turned into a nightmare for a family in Katarihara village of Jaleswar, as a devastating fire reduced their homes and belongings to ashes. The unfortunate incident occurred at the residence of Abdul Awal, who had just returned after offering the sacred Eid prayers.

According to reports, the massive fire broke out in the house of Abdul Awal, completely destroying two homes, a general store, cash worth several lakhs, and crucial documents. The estimated loss is said to be around ten lakh rupees.

Locals suspect that the fire was caused by an electrical short circuit. Prompt action by villagers helped in extinguishing the flames, preventing further damage. However, allegations have surfaced against the Lakhipur fire department, as locals claim that despite multiple emergency calls, firefighters failed to arrive at the scene.

Residents have also blamed the electricity department for negligence, holding them responsible for the tragic incident.

The devastating fire has left Abdul Awal and his family in despair, as they lost everything on the very day of Eid-ul-Fitr. What was meant to be a day of joy and celebration turned into a day of grief and loss for the affected family.
