October 8, 2024: In a stunning display of political resilience, Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini has propelled the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) to a historic third consecutive term in Haryana, defying widespread predictions of a tough battle. The BJP's triumph marks a significant moment in the state's political landscape, with Saini emerging as a pivotal figure who turned the tide against expectations.

Despite exit polls suggesting that the BJP would struggle to surpass the 30-seat threshold, Saini maintained an unwavering confidence in the party's grassroots connections. "The exit polls have their own theory and their own system, but we work on the ground. Our leaders are directly connected with the people. The people of Haryana want the BJP to come to power for a third time. We are forming the government for a third time," Saini declared, underscoring the party's stronghold in the region.

Taking office in March 2024, Saini became the first OBC leader to assume the role of chief minister in Haryana, following a strategic change in leadership from long-serving Manohar Lal Khattar. Key initiatives included the announcement of reservations in government jobs, a special quota for Agniveers, and an increase in the annual income limit for the creamy layer from Rs 6 lakh to Rs 8 lakh. These strategic decisions were crucial in countering a perceived consolidation of Jat voters behind the Congress party.

Interestingly, the BJP's campaign deviated from its typical focus on Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s slogans and guarantees. Although Modi provided direction for the campaign, his presence was notably less pronounced, with fewer rallies than usual. This shift allowed the party to concentrate on local issues and the direct concerns of Haryana's electorate.
