Asia Pacific Ministerial Conference on Civil Aviation Set to Begin in Delhi

September 10, 2024: The second Asia Pacific Ministerial Conference on Civil Aviation is poised to commence on September 11 in the Indian capital, Delhi. The two-day event will gather over 250 delegates from 41 countries, all focused on developing a strategic roadmap for advancing the civil aviation sector across the region.



Civil Aviation Minister K. Rammohan Naidu said that underscoring the significance of the conference. He announced that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will attend the closing session on Thursday, underscoring India's commitment to strengthening its role in regional aviation.



Naidu highlighted the impressive growth of India's aviation sector over the past decade, with the number of aircraft in the country doubling to over 800 and the number of airports expanding from 74 to 157.



Civil aviation secretary Vumlunmang Vualnam said that 250 representatives from 41 countries will be participating in the event and the key topic of discussion includes air safety.
