January 25, 2024: MC Mary Kom, the six-time world champion and 2012 Olympic medallist on Thursday confirmed that she hasn’t announced her retirement yet.

The boxer clarified about the statement that she made while attending a school event in Dibrugarh, Assam on Wednesday. During the event, she said “I still have a hunger to achieve in sports but the age limit in the Olympics doesn’t allow me to participate though I can carry on with my sport". Following the statement, the rumours started to circulate on social media that the legendary boxer will retire.

However, the 41-year-old boxer said she was "misquoted" and she is still focusing on her fitness and she will inform everyone if she retires.
