July 28, 2021: The Chief Minister of Sikkim Prem Singh Tamang on Wednesday launched the implementation of One Nation One Ration Card & Fair Price Shops automation through ePOS devices in the state.





Taking to the Twitter, Prem Singh Tamang informed, “I was pleased to launch the implementation of One Nation One Ration Card & Fair Price Shops automation through ePOS devices in the state of Sikkim.



This flagship program of Hon’ble PM enables beneficiaries to avail ration in any part of the country using their ration card.”

'One Nation One Ration Card' scheme was implemented by the centre to provide nation-wide portability of National Food Security Act (NFS), 2013.



The scheme aims to benefit the migrant workers who constitute more than 1/4th population of India.





The Supreme Court has directed states, union territories to implement a 'one nation, one ration card' scheme (ONORC) by July 31.



32 states and Union Territories have joined the ONORC, covering about 69 crore NFSA beneficiaries.
