September 23, 2023: Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh on Saturday informed that the internet services in the state will be resumed for the public from today. The Internet services was suspended for many months due to the clash that erupted between Metei and Kuki communities.



Taking X, Manipur CM informed, "From today onwards, internet services will be opened for the public, says Manipur CM N Biren Singh".





The violence started on May 3 after the Manipur High Court asked the state government to consider adding the former, the majority community in the state, to the list of Scheduled Tribes.



Over 100 people have lost their lives and 60,000 were displaced since the clashes broke out between the communities in Manipur. Hundreds of women protested in areas where Section 144 was imposed.
