September 4, 2024: The Tripura Police and the Border Security Force (BSF) on Tuesday jointly handed over the body of a minor girl, whose bullet-ridden body was found near the Laitapura Border Outpost (BOP) along the Indo-Bangla international border in Kailashahar if Tripura’s Unakoti district, to the Border Guards Bangladesh (BGB) and Bangladesh Police authorities, officials informed the media.
The recovered body of a 16 year old girl from Bangladesh has been identified as Swarna Das. Reportedly, Swarna and her parents had been facing problems in Bangladesh since regime change and twice in last three weeks they attempted to cross over Tripura but failed.
