September 7, 2024: In a fresh violence in Jiribam, Manipur, at least five people were killed. Police said that the dead belong to both communities.

A security sources said that several others have been injured in the gun fight and there could be rise in casualty figures.

This fresh round of violence has come after drone and rocket attacks since Sunday despite the presence of heavy deployment of over 60,000 security forces belonging to central armed police force and state police over and above the presence of Assam Rifles and Army.
