April 18, 2024: The West Bengal government on Thursday issued a notification that the authority has decided to prepone the summer vacation in the schools due to heatwave.

Earlier, the summer vacation was scheduled to start from May 6 but now the vacation has been preponed to April 22.

However, the notice has been issued for all the schools except the hill areas of Darjeeling and Kalimpong districts. Therefore, the hilly area schools can continue their existing academic until further order.

Schools affiliated with CBSE and ICSE have also been requested to begin the summer vacation from April 22.
