December 25, 2024: A tragic accident occurred near Bhimtal town in Uttarakhand on Wednesday when a bus veered off the road and plunged into a 1,500-foot deep gorge, leaving four people dead and over 24 injured. The bus, which was en route from Almora to Haldwani, lost control and fell into the steep gorge, resulting in passengers being thrown from the vehicle.



The incident has left several passengers in critical condition, and immediate rescue efforts are underway. Emergency teams, including police, State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), fire department officials, and local residents, are working tirelessly to pull victims from the gorge using ropes.



In response to the scale of the disaster, 15 ambulances have been dispatched from Haldwani to assist with the evacuation and transport of the injured to nearby hospitals. The injured have been taken to Bhimtal and surrounding medical facilities for treatment.



Rescue operations are still ongoing, and authorities are working to determine the cause of the accident. The tragic event has sent shockwaves through the local community as efforts continue to save lives and assist the affected families.
