October 29, 2024: In a significant political shift, BJP spokesperson Shaina NC has officially joined the Shiv Sena, following her selection as a candidate for the Mumbadevi constituency in the upcoming November 20 Assembly elections. She is set to file her nomination today.

In a heartfelt message on social media platform X, Shaina expressed her gratitude, stating, "I would like to thank our hon'ble Prime Minister @narendramodi ji, our dynamic Chief Minister @mieknathshinde ji, Deputy CM @Dev_Fadnavis ji, and @AjitPawarSpeaks. Our Mahayuti leadership has given me an opportunity to serve the people of Mumbadevi for the assembly elections."

The announcement of her candidacy came just hours before her formal switch to the Shiv Sena, with the event attended by Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and other prominent party leaders.

In an interview with news agency ANI, Shaina NC highlighted her long-standing ties to South Mumbai, addressing the local challenges faced by residents. "I have been living in South Mumbai all my life and I realize the kind of challenges citizens here have to face, whether it is cluster development, local hygiene, or open spaces. I am committed to the people of Mumbai," she stated.

Shaina emphasized her intent to be more than just a Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA), declaring, "I want to be their voice. I believe that it is the collective consciousness of the administration, the legislature, and the citizens that needs to be showcased in terms of good public service. I assure the people that I have no PA, I answer all my calls, and I will always be accessible and accountable to my citizens and all my voters."

The Mumbadevi constituency, part of the Mumbai Lok Sabha seat, has been represented by Congress's Amin Patel since 2009, making this election a crucial battleground for both parties. Shaina NC's entry into the race is expected to intensify the competition as the election date approaches.
