March 28, 2025: A Mohali court has found self-styled pastor Bajinder Singh guilty in a 2018 sexual harassment case while acquitting five others accused in the same case. The verdict comes after years of legal proceedings following allegations made by a woman from Ziralpur, Punjab.
The survivor alleged that Singh sexually assaulted her at his residence in Sector 63, Chandigarh, and recorded the act. She further claimed that he later threatened to release the video online if she reported the crime or refused to comply with his demands. Singh was arrested at Delhi airport in 2018 while attempting to board a flight to London for a religious event but was later granted bail.
The ruling has sparked protests from Singh’s supporters, who have demanded the cancellation of the FIR against him. The self-proclaimed godman, known as the ‘Yashu Yashu’ pastor due to his widely circulated sermons, has been embroiled in multiple controversies in recent weeks.
Just days ago, another case was filed against Singh after a viral video showed him physically assaulting a man and a woman in his office. A former church worker who resigned after the incident alleged that young women and girls volunteering at his church were often harassed and stalked.
Earlier this month, Singh was booked in Punjab’s Kapurthala for alleged sexual harassment, stalking, and criminal intimidation of a 22-year-old woman. The pastor, however, denied all allegations, claiming he was the victim of a conspiracy by rival religious leaders.
With multiple allegations surfacing against him, legal troubles for Bajinder Singh continue to mount.
