February 10, 2025: Popular YouTuber and podcaster Ranveer Allahbadia, known as BeerBiceps, has issued a public apology following severe criticism over a crude comment he made on the comedy show India’s Got Latent. Allahbadia shared a one-minute video on social media, acknowledging his mistake and expressing regret for his remarks.
The controversy erupted after a clip from the show went viral, where Allahbadia posed an inappropriate and unsettling question to a contestant. The backlash was swift, with netizens condemning the comment as distasteful and uncalled for.
In his apology video, Allahbadia admitted that his remark was not only inappropriate but also lacked comedic value. “I shouldn’t have said what I said on India’s Got Latent. I’m sorry,” he captioned the post.
“My comment was not just inappropriate, it was not even funny. Comedy is not my forte. I am just here to say sorry,” he stated in the video, adding that he would not provide any justification or context for his words.
Allahbadia also addressed concerns raised by his audience, many of whom follow his podcast featuring high-profile guests, including politicians and business leaders. He acknowledged that his platform comes with responsibility and that he had learned a valuable lesson.
“The podcast is watched by people of all ages. I don't want to be the kind of person who takes that responsibility lightly. Family is the last thing that I would ever disrespect. I need to use this platform better. That has been my learning from this whole experience. I promise to get better,” he assured his followers.
In response to the controversy, Allahbadia confirmed that he has requested the show's producers to edit out the “insensitive sections” of the episode.
“I have asked the makers of the video to remove the insensitive sections from the video. All I can say in the end is sorry, I hope you can forgive me as a human being,” he concluded.
The episode featured Allahbadia as a guest judge alongside comedians Samay Raina, Ashish Chanchlani, and Apoorva Mukhija (The Rebel Kid). The show, known for its roast-style humor, often tests contestants on their ability to handle awkward situations. However, Allahbadia’s question crossed the line, drawing widespread criticism.
His apology has received mixed reactions, with some accepting it as a genuine act of remorse, while others continue to criticize him for making the comment in the first place.
