January 29, 2024: A 26-year-old IT professional working with Infosys was allegedly shot dead at an Oyo Hotel in Pune on Saturday night.

Reportedly, the deceased girl’s boyfriend identified as Rishabh Nigam has been arrested from Mumbai and a pistol was also recovered from him.

According to police officials, the victim identified as Vandana Dwivedi and her beau originally hails from Lucknow. The deceased had travelled to Pune after being called by her boyfriend to a hotel. Later, after allegedly shooting her, the accused went on the run.

As per reports, police reached the spot immediately after receiving the information about the firing. Police found the body lying on the floor and blood stains were also found in the room.

According to hotel CCTV footage, the accused Rishabh Nigam was seen exiting the room late at night. Police then started scanning vehicles at checkpoints and caught him.

Therefore, police have begun to investigate the matter.
