June 10, 2023: A man from Kerala reached Mecca after walking almost 8640 km for Haj.

The man has been identified as Shihab Chottur and he is a resident of Valanchery, Malappuram.

According to sources, Shihab started the trek from his hometown on June 2, 2022 and walked through India, Pakistan, Iran and Kuwait to reach Mecca.

Hajj is a sacred pilgrimage that is required of every Muslim people at least once in their lifetime. It is one of the fifth pillars of Islam. Each year, millions of Muslims from across the world travel to perform Hajj in Mecca.
