AUGUST 2, 2024 - The actor, who has been consciously checking his calorie count these days, said that this new lifestyle makes him feel good. I have taken the entire lifestyle with me. The lifestyle is disciplined, sleeping on time, eating on time, eating the right food, going to the gym, and working out. I think these were the things I was evading in my life. I should have been doing that before also. I have always been a foodie. It was a difficult task to leave food. It was like leaving everything I was eating. Everything that I was eating (now) was new to me. It was something that never tasted good. I have gotten used to it now. It makes me feel good, not in a tasteful manner but in a very meditative manner, Kartik told Film Companion.
This new regimen has resulted in drastic changes in his sleep schedule. There is a shift that I am noticing. This kind of discipline was not there before. I was mostly an insomniac. I didn’t mind not sleeping. Suddenly, sleep has become a big part of my life. It is like machine ko sona hai. And physiotherapy. Working out properly. I followed it for 1.5 years-2 years. It was a work of patience. It takes a lot of effort, said Kartik, 33.
He also shared that he picked up key life skills during the film’s shoot, helmed by filmmaker Kabir Khan. On the one hand, I was not eating food, doing my workouts and on the other hand, I was learning skills like boxing and swimming. I was scared of deep-water swimming. I had to shoot in a 15 m deep Olympic stadium with professional swimmers with whom I had to match my speed. From a non-swimmer to a swimmer and a non-boxer to a boxer I was in a ring with a guy who was coming from a world championship bout, recalled Kartik, adding that Kabir Khan pays a lot of attention to detail.
