August 16, 2024: On Friday ISRO successfully launched third developmental flight of Small Satellite Launch Vehicle (SSLV) from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre in Sriharikota, Andhra Pradesh. After successfully satellite injection, the space agency chief S Somanath declared the declared the development of SSLV complete.
The objectives of the SSLV-D3-08 mission include designing and developing a microsatellite and creating payload instruments compatible with the microsatellite bus, the Bengaluru-headquartered national space agency said.
The SSLV-D3-08 mission, initially scheduled for August 15 but postponed by a day, is a significant step forward in ISRO’s efforts to provide low-cost access to space.
