March 18, 2024: Tension erupted immediately after four coaches and the engine of the Sabarmati-Agra superfast train derailed in Ajmer, Rajasthan on Sunday midnight. The derailment took place at around 1 AM.

However, no casualties were reported. But those who suffered minor injuries were soon taken to the nearby hospitals for their treatment.

According to Railways officials, its officers and employees swung into track restoration work after train number 12548 heading to Agra derailed near the home signal at Madar.

The North Western Railway stated, “Six trains have been cancelled and two trains have been diverted to other routes”.
