August 26, 2023: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday interacted with the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) scientists for the successful Chandrayaan-3 mission at the ISRO Telemetry Tracking & Command Network Mission Control Complex in Bengaluru. He announced that the landing site of Chandrayaan-3’s Vikram lander will now be called as “Shiv Shakti Point”.



PM Modi also met the women scientists of the ISRO team involved in the Chandrayaan-3 Mission.





On the other hand, the site where the Chandrayaan-2 lander crash-landed on the Moon's surface in 2019 will be known as ''Tiranga Point''.





PM Modi also added that the day when Chandrayaan-3’s Vikram lander landed on the Moon’s South Pole i.e. August 23, 2023, will be celebrated as ''National Space Day''.





During the interaction, ISRO Chairman S Somanath briefed him about the Chandrayaan-3 complete mission.
