January 7, 2025: Bollywood superstar Salman Khan has fortified his iconic Galaxy Apartments in Bandra with state-of-the-art security upgrades, including bulletproof glass, following heightened threats to his safety. The measures come eight months after a shooting incident outside his residence that raised alarms about the actor's security.
The apartment now features a bulletproof balcony, where Khan is known to greet his fans, along with an advanced security system and high-resolution CCTV cameras to monitor the surroundings. Salman Khan resides in a 1 BHK flat on the ground floor, while his parents occupy the first floor of the building.
The security upgrades follow an incident on April 14, 2024, when two men on a motorcycle fired four shots at the apartment before fleeing the scene. Salman Khan has since expressed concerns about his safety, citing threats from jailed gangster Lawrence Bishnoi. The Bishnoi gang has reportedly targeted Khan due to a long-standing grudge linked to the 1998 Blackbuck poaching case, for which the actor was convicted.
The Bishnoi community considers Blackbucks sacred, and Bishnoi has repeatedly vowed to harm the actor. The April shooting marked a severe escalation of these threats, leading to an increased focus on Khan's security.
The situation further intensified in October 2024 with the murder of former Maharashtra minister Baba Siddique, a close associate of Salman Khan. The 66-year-old politician's assassination underscored the rising tension surrounding the actor's safety.
While authorities continue to investigate the threats and ensure Salman Khan's protection, the upgraded security at Galaxy Apartments stands as a testament to the star’s vigilance in safeguarding his family and himself.
