September 3, 2020: Former Geological Survey department officer Bimal Das on Thursday lost his life in Covid-19. He was the husband of noted actress Chetana Das.

Both Bimal Das and Chetana Das were tested Covid positive on August 28 and were admitted to GNRC. Since then, Das was undergoing treatment there while Chetana Das was shifted to GMCH.

Suddenly, his condition deteriorated and was shifted to the ICU where he breathed his last on Thursday morning. His demise has cast a pall of gloom over the state.

In all these years, he was the pillar of strength behind Chetana Das' journey as an actress.
