May 5, 2023: Two minor boys have lost their lives after drowning in the Brahmaputra River in Assam's Guwahati on Friday.

The incident took place in Sunsali area at around 2 PM.

According to the police officials, total five boys had gone to the river for a bath. The deceased have been identified as Jeet Thakuria and Jaiswa Islari.

Reportedly, a State Disaster Response Fund (SDRF) team has recovered the bodies from the river.
