July 13, 2023: A scientist from Assam named Chayan Dutta who is an alumnus of Tezpur University has been given the honour and responsibility to oversee the launch control operations of the highly anticipated mission of Chandrayaan-3.
Chandrayaan-3, India’s third lunar mission will be launched by the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) on board the Launch Vehicle Mark-III from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre, Sriharikota on July 14, 2:35 pm by using the “Bahubali” rocket.
India will become the fourth nation after the Unites States of America, Russia and China to land on the moon if the mission Chandryaan-3 is a success.
A team of ISRO scientists have also visited the Tirupati Venkatachalapathy temple on Thursday with a miniature model of Chandrayaan-3 to offer prayers to the gods for the success of this mission. Shantanu Bhatwadekar, Scientific Secretary of ISRO also visited the temple along with the Chandrayaan-3 team.
