January 15, 2024: Amid the Magh Bihu celebration in Assam, a deadly road accident took place in the Lakhimpur district on Sunday night where one person lost his life and seventeen people were critically injured.

The accident occurred at around 10:30 pm in the Banderdewa area. Reportedly, a four-wheeler truck carrying eighteen passengers fell into a 20-foot gorge from the highway.

Therefore, the critically injured persons were shifted to a hospital for their treatment.
