November 17, 2023: In a recent development, one of the accused who was arrested in connection to the Bokakhat school teacher shooting incident has been injured in the police firing at Agoratoli area in Assam on Friday. The injured accused has been identified as Babu Saikia.

A day earlier, a school teacher named Uday Changmai of Seujipar area was allegedly opened fired by miscreants. Later, he was shifted to Jorhat Medical College & Hospital (JMCH) for treatment.

After investigation, two persons identified as Babu Saikia and Biman Saikia was arrested by police.

But the accused Babu Saikia got injured on his leg when he tried to escape from police custody. He even attacked one of the police constable named as Ajay Nath. The constable is currently under treatment.
