August 22, 2023: Assam Education Department on Tuesday announces that the Moon Mission Chandrayaan-3 soft landing will be telecasted all over the state's schools on August 23. The schools will remain open until 6 PM for the live telecast. 

Chandrayaan-3 was launched into space by the LVM3 rocket from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre in Sriharikota on July 14.

India will be the fourth country in the world to land on the moon after the United States, Russia, and China, but India will be the only country in the world to land on the lunar south pole.
