Dhubri: A Border Security Force (BSF) battalion apprehended two Indian individuals near the Indo-Bangladesh border in Dhubri, Assam on Monday.



The suspects, identified as Ainul Hoque and Abdul Rashid, were caught at Gaspara Gaon Panchayat in Dhubri around 3:30 pm.



During the operation, the BSF also seized cash amounting to Rs 1 lakh, believed to be linked to illegal cattle trade activities.



The apprehended individuals, residents of Sastarghat area under Patamari Gaon Panchayat, were handed over to Dhubri Sadar Police Station for further investigation.



Police are investigating the suspects' possible connections to cross-border smuggling networks, and legal action is expected to follow.



Sources said that the suspects were possibly attempting to smuggle cattle to Bangladesh.



However, investigation regarding the allegations are being carried out as they were held based on specific inputs from sources.
