February 23, 2022: Several actors from Assam have brought accolades to the state with their acting skills.
One of the recent actors to join the list is Boloram Das. Das, an NSD alumnus who hails from Guwahati, Assam has garnered a lot of praise for his performance in the recently released Bollywood film ‘A Thursday’.
‘A Thursday’ is a hostage thriller movie revolving around a play school teacher who kidnaps 16 small students and puts a series of demands, which not only shakes the Mumbai police and city, but sends repercussions throughout the country and its politicians.
Das who plays the role of a student’s driver have been appreciated for his justice to the role.
It may be mentioned that Das started his acting career with the English Language film The Black Russian directed by Carlos Valle and Paul Sidhu in the year 2013. Next year he appeared in his first Bollywood movie ‘Badlapur Boys’. Since then he has acted in many Bollywood films like ‘Gabbar Is Back’, ‘High Jack’ and ‘Karwaan’. Recently he was widely appreciated for his negative role in Sony Liv Original Film ‘Welcome Home’.
Besides working in Hindi films Das continued to work in Assamese and English language films. His first Assamese venture was ‘Antareen’ released in 2017. Apart from working on big screen, Das acted in many short films in both Hindi and Assamese language. He is a much-known face in Indian television as he regularly appears on TVC.
‘A Thursday’ released on Disney+ Hotstar on February 17 and has a star cast of Yami Gautam in leading role along with Atul Kulkarni, Neha Dhupia, Karanvir Sharma and others.
The film has been receiving positive reviews from the public and the film industry alike ever since it was released.
