March 6, 2024: A huge quantity of supari which was buried in the ground recovered in Krishnai, Goalpara district of Assam on Wednesday.

Reportedly, at least 30 sacks containing supari were recovered from the backyard of the house of a man who is accused in supari robbery case. The accused has been identified as Jiyarul Haque.

Earlier a month ago, a vehicle loaded with supari was hijacked from Dharamtul area. Following which, three accused were arrested from Goalpara during the search operation carried out by Marigaon Police.

The accused Jiyarul Haque was also arrested by Marigaon Police in a joint operation with Krishnai Police for a week. Based on Jiyarul’s confession, Krishani Police have today seized the supari buried in the ground from his house.
