May 4, 2023: Tension erupted in Assam's Margherita on Thursday after a body of a 12-year-old minor girl recovered from a septic tank on Wednesday night.

Reportedly, the minor girl was allegedly raped and murdered by a man named Anand Tanti who is on the run.

According to the report, the deceased went to watch the Bihu program on April 30. But later as she was getting late, she stayed at the house of Anand Tanti.

Hundreds of people came out and staged a protest together demanding the arrest of the accused by burning the tires on the road.
