March 5, 2024: Triggering sensation, a six-year-old girl was allegedly raped by a man at Haluwating area in Amguri, Assam. The accused has been identified as Ritwik Tanti.

The victim’s mother alleged that the incident took place when the girl went to charge her mobile phone at the house of Ritwik Tanti in the absence of her parents. As per sources, the accused leaves in the same compound.

Therefore, the accused has been detained by police based on a FIR lodged by the victim’s mother. The case is registered under the POCSO Act. Investigations are underway.
