July 30, 2020: On a day the chief minister's house was closed after two staffers were tested positive, the Nagaland government has decided to extend the statewide lockdown till August 31.
Considering the increase in the Covid-19 cases in the state, the Nagaland government on Thursday extended the lockdown till August 31. The government will notify Standard Operating Procedure for all the districts to contain spread of the virus.
Till Thursday, the state has 1561 positive cases, of whom 961 are active and 595 have recovered. The state's Covid death toll stands at 5.
A high powered committee headed by Chief Minister Neiphie Rio on coronavirus situation took the decision on Thursday.
Among all the districts. Dimapur is the worst infected with 434 positive cases, Kohima has 316 and interior Mon district has 138 active cases.
