August 1, 2020: Inter-district transport in Assam to be allowed for 2 days every week till August 15. Besides, gyms and malls can also be opened in Guwahati following the Left-right rule.

Addressing mediapersons on Saturday, Health Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sharma said that inter-district transport will be allowed on every Monday and Tuesday. However, the weekend lockdown on Saturday and Sunday will remain in place.

Announcing the extension of partial lockdown till August 15, Sharma said that the night curfew from 6 PM to 6 AM will continue in Guwahati. The Unlock was to expire on Sunday.

Sharma hoped that the situation will be under control by August 30 if the people maintain the safety measures.

The minister informed that all shops including malls, restaurants and gyms in Guwahati can open for 5 days following the Left-Right rule. However, no haat/bazaar will be allowed. The minister also said that the lockdown could be reimposed if the people do not follow the safety measures.
